Part Five: TOOLS TO HELP YOU ASSESS LEARNING_Ch. 20-22

Chapter 20 QUIZZES, TESTS, AND SURVEYS

https://moodle.org/. It wasn’t user friendly.
http://www.surveymonkey.com/. It was very easy to use. Send a link through via emails.
http://www.quia.com/ offers 30 day free trial. It’s $49.00 (or less) a year.

http://www.proprofs.com/ offers a 7 day trial and a simple quiz is $9.97 a month. It is user-friendly and convenient. After creating a username and a password, I was able to make a test without any  frustration. I can send a test via email, link, embed, or print it out. It grades automatically and gives a report with a certificate. I was able to make a folder according to subjects I teach. Also, I can use tests created by other teachers.
Seventy percent of my students’ grades are from the university’s computer-based multiple-choice exams. After creating the tests, I can send the link via Google Group. Most of my students have smartphones. So, they can take tests in class while I’m monitoring. Once they are done, the statistics will help me analyze the performance of my students. I’ll look through my students’ weaknesses and focus on that area. I definitely can use this website and would recommend it to other teachers.
